Let’s be honest: These days, it can be difficult to find sources of hope. The challenges we’re up against are very, very real, and the worry and anxiety all of us have felt this year is hard to ignore.

But when we do find those sources of hope, well… it’s contagious.

And that’s how I’m feeling after watching last night’s election results come in.

In Virginia, Abigail Spanberger won in a blowout and became the first woman ever elected Governor in her state. And in New Jersey, Mikie Sherrill ran a positive, inspiring campaign, defied the polls, and defeated her MAGA opponent by double digits. And we saw Democrats sweep in races across the country, including here in Colorado. That could not be a louder message to the White House.

People constantly ask me how we are going to stop Trump. This is how.

Across the country, families are fed up with Donald Trump’s chaos and cruelty, and they showed up in a major way last night. They’re seeing right through Trump’s endless lies and corruption. But they are also compelled by the candidates stepping up and the future they want to build. And that’s exactly how two badass moms — a CIA officer and a Navy helicopter pilot — won handily in very competitive races last night.

Last night gave us all much-needed hope. Today feels a little bit lighter.

As we take this moment to celebrate, I hope you feel as excited as I do to get right back to work and sprint to the finish line next November. It’s going to be a difficult road ahead, but like Abigail and Mikie, I know we are up to the challenge.

Thank you for continuing to fight for the country we love and not backing down when things get tough.

As I always say — “No regrets on election night.” So let’s get to work!
