Dear John,
Democrats won big yesterday, including our endorsed moms—and more importantly, so did the American people.
Many pundits have been quick to paint our victories as a rejection of Donald Trump. While that is certainly part of it, that’s not the full story. The message we should hear from voters—and the lesson we should take into 2026—is that Americans crave authentic leadership, focused relentlessly on the biggest issues facing families, especially those related to cost of living, such as child care, groceries, and energy prices.
No one makes that case better than moms. That’s why, across the nation, our mamas defied historical trends to win gubernatorial races and flipped seats from red to blue by centering motherhood, messaging around the cost of living crisis, and providing an alternative to the Trump-led chaos in DC.
Mamas were the majority makers last night—not just for states, but for the nation.
What I love most is that they’re average people who are running for the right reasons. At the end of the day, this is about basic decency. About having leaders who give a damn about people, who care more about the cost of groceries and childcare than about disarray and ego.
And it’s about everyday people like YOU, our incredible supporters, who have stood by Vote Mama and our moms to help make these groundbreaking victories possible. Your contributions are what fuel this work, and I cannot thank you enough.
This election showed us something powerful: moms are not only majority makers; we’re momentum builders, and we’re just getting started. These results tell us that moms will lead us to victory again in 2026.
