Hi John —
One year ago today, we won our gubernatorial election here in North Carolina by 15 points.
It was one of the most hard-fought governor’s races last year, and we proved that Democrats can succeed in purple states even when Donald Trump is on the ballot.
Last night, Democratic victories in New Jersey and Virginia showed us that our momentum is still growing.
Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger won against MAGA opponents. Their races were set to be close, but both pulled off resounding victories.
Here’s what we can take away from this, John: We know what’s resonating with folks everywhere — our vision of making life more affordable for hardworking families and creating economic opportunity for every person — not culture-war agendas that ignore the real struggles we’re facing at the grocery store or pharmacy.
I’m excited today. Last night’s wins are a positive sign for things to come. But we still have to do the hard work necessary to keep winning.
Here in North Carolina, ultra-partisan GOP gerrymandering and anti-voter efforts have put Democratic candidates in a tough position. We are underdogs going into 2026 and 2028. But the only way we can stop the far-right here in NC and in Washington is to defeat them at the ballot box, so we HAVE to win.
I’m personally asking if you can help set NC Democratic candidates up for success by donating today. We’re less than a year out from the midterms, and my team and I are working hard every day to make sure that our candidates have a fighting chance — but we can’t do it without you.
