Yesterday’s sweeping Democratic victories share a clear
throughline: We are a big tent party and we win when we fight for the
people and center affordability, healthcare justice, and defending
democracy.

In Boston, my friend, partner, and sister-in-service Mayor Michelle Wu won
a decisive re-election victory. She has led us through consequential times
with clear vision, she has stood firm in defense of our neighbors, and I’m
grateful for her partnership.

In Virginia, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger flipped the governorship
blue. We served together as freshmen in the 116th Congress, we fought side
by side for the Equal Rights Amendment, and now she’ll make history as the
Commonwealth’s first woman Governor.

In New York City, Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani led with a politics of
transformation, built a movement campaign that met people where they are,
and showed what’s possible when we lay out an affirmative vision for a
more just, affordable city.

And in California, the success of Prop 50 was a resounding rejection of
Trump's attempt to rig next year's midterms and silence Black and brown
voices. We will NOT allow Republicans' brazen power grab to go unchecked.

The people have spoken and the Democratic party should listen to them.
With our rights and freedoms under attack, we need visionary leaders who
serve the people — not special interests or billionaires — and who are
committed to building an America where everyone has their basic needs met.

[ [link removed] ]I feel more resolved than ever to continue centering the people,
defending our communities from a hostile White House and Republican
Congress, and governing like lives depend on it, because they do. And I’m
asking if you can make a donation to fuel the fights that lie ahead.

Congratulations to all of our candidates who won, to those who put their
names forward, and to the organizers, volunteers, and poll workers who
keep our democracy running.

In solidarity,

Ayanna
