John,
Last night, we all watched as voters across the country soundly rejected President Trump and the Republicans who enable him. We all worked hard for this, we deserve to celebrate, and to be a little relieved that so many voters, people who don’t live and breathe politics the way many of us do, are with us. I will be cheering, for a while, the Democratic victories of my friends Abigail Spanberger in Virginia and Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey, the Supreme Court races in Pennsylvania, the redistricting ballot measure in California, and two statewide seats in Georgia.
As I write this, I’m in Washington, D.C., working to end the shutdown, which is now the longest in our nation’s history. People are suffering needlessly. It’s long past time to end this.
