What yesterday’s win in Virginia means for our movement

Eugene Vindman for Congress

John,

Yesterday, hardworking families across the Commonwealth showed up to the polls and made their voices heard loud and clear: They’re ready for a serious leader who will deliver real results.

The voters have spoken — and that leader is our Governor-elect, Abigail Spanberger.

Abigail’s campaign channeled the energy of voters across Virginia’s 7th District and the entire Commonwealth — people who are tired of the chaos Donald Trump has inflicted on our working people. People who are ready for change and ready to fight back.

We made our voices overwhelmingly heard — flipping over 10 seats in the State House and winning the Governor’s race by over 14 percentage points. And Abigail made history as the first female governor of Virginia.

As her successor in Congress and someone who deeply admires her service, I could not be prouder to see her elected Governor. Her victory is proof that when we fight for what’s right — we win.

But let’s be clear: While we won one fight, this is just the beginning of what comes next.

Next November will be our real test. And on Election Day:

We’re going to defend this seat and keep our movement in Congress.

We’re going to flip the House blue and send rubber stamp Republicans packing in 2026.

And we’re going to put an end to Donald Trump’s unchecked power grab.

Because enough is enough.

The people of Virginia just reminded the country what’s possible when we come together to defend our democracy. Let’s keep that momentum going — because our movement is only getting stronger.

Thank you for standing with me.
