There’s no feeling quite as heavy as waking up the morning after a tough election when the results didn’t go our way.

The disbelief. The disappointment. The sinking feeling that our country was headed in the wrong direction, and that the progress we’d fought so hard for was suddenly at risk.

One year from now, we’ll wake up after the 2026 midterm election with a chance to turn the page and chart a new course for our nation. A chance to reject Donald Trump’s extreme agenda and the Republican majority fasttracking it in Congress.

There’s a lot at stake regarding the future of our country. And winning won’t be easy.

We have one year to do the work. One year to organize. One year to remind the country what we stand for, and who we’re fighting for.

The deck may be stacked against us, but we can’t afford to wake up the day after next year’s election wishing we had done more. That’s why the work to take back the House — and restore a Congress that works for the American people — starts right now.

Despite Republicans’ nationwide redistricting scheme, despite their efforts to silence voters, despite it all, I know we have what it takes to defend our democracy and take back the House.
