On Monday I got word that a candidate, backed by old machine operatives, has officially filed petitions to run against me in the Democratic primary.

While the political machine of the past tries to claw back power, threatened by the people-centered movement we have built in IL-3, I refuse to bend or break. We will not go backwards.

We built this movement one conversation, one volunteer shift, one $10 donation at a time — with heart and determination to make our government work for the people. Every time we’ve been counted out, we’ve proven that people power still wins.
