Zohran Mamdani just won the race for Mayor of New York City - and it happened because of people like you. In New York, Iranian Americans, Palestinian Americans, South Asians, immigrant communities and allies across this city came together to demand justice, dignity, and a politics rooted in people, not power.
But this win isn’t just about one city. It’s a glimpse of what’s possible.
When our communities organize, we can defeat the powerful interests who say change isn't possible in order to continue promoting their agenda of inertia, inequality, and militarism. Last night showed us the road map to reject fear-based politics and elect leaders who stand with ordinary people for peace and democracy.
Now, we must carry this momentum nationwide. The 2026 elections are already on the horizon, and NIAC Action is ready to help elect a new generation of leaders who will fight for our communities and stand up to the war industry and the Israel lobby. As the largest grassroots Iranian-American organization in the country, together we can build the infrastructure, strategy, and people power to make sure last night's win is just the beginning.
In 2026, we have a tremendous task ahead of us. We need to re-elect our congressional champions who are staunchly against war with Iran and for diplomacy. We need to defeat AIPAC and the war lobbies' hold on Congress. We need to end Donald Trump’s assault on immigrant communities like ours and elect leaders who meet the moment with urgency. And we need to activate the over 750,000 Iranian American voters across the country in races up and down the ballot to make sure we have responsive, values-aligned elected leaders in the halls of power.
Last night, New York showed the nation that people power, not fear, can determine our future. Now we must build on this energy before others try to dim it.
Together, we’re not just witnessing history - we’re organizing it.
