The Democrat Shutdown is now the longest in U.S. history

Today marks day 36 of the Democrat Government Shutdown – the longest federal government shutdown in U.S. history.

Democrats have collectively voted 15 times to shut down the government, to stop benefits like nutritional assistance from flowing to American families, and to block the paychecks of federal employees, like the TSA agents working around the clock to keep our skies safe. It is utterly shameful that Democrats continue to use this shutdown as political leverage while the American people are feeling the very real and harmful effects.

This morning, Speaker Johnson hosted a press conference to discuss the need for five reasonable Senate Democrats to put aside their partisan charade and vote to reopen the government. Click the photo below to watch Speaker Johnson’s remarks.

If you are in need of assistance with a federal agency or have questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office. We are still open and here to help during the shutdown.

Thank you,

Office of Speaker Mike Johnson
