Dear Friend,
I'm sorry that you weren't able to attend our town hall meeting on Wednesday. We've posted video of our entire presentation online
[[link removed]] if you would like to see what you missed.
With the help of more than 7,000 committed PETA supporters, we were able to surpass the $250,000 goal of our "Save Our Skin" Matching-Gift
Challenge . That means an immediate $500,000 boost to our vital work to stop the use of
fur, skin, feathers, and every other covering stolen from animals.
If you haven't yet heard, last week Vogue Business broke news of a groundbreaking new PETA exposé of the international leather trade
[[link removed]] that's already sending shockwaves through a fashion industry discovering how
little it knows about the leather it uses.
Animals are being condemned to suffer during weeks-long journeys from Europe and
South America to overseas destinations and by truck to slaughterhouses in Iraq,
Lebanon, Turkey, and elsewhere. Some of their skin will end up on store shelves
across North America and Europe. Luckily, we've found that when we show
consumers and designers how animals suffer in the skins trade—and let them know
how that industry risks spreading more deadly diseases—many turn to vegan
materials.
Please share the exposé from our website or social media sites, and make a point
of asking everyone you know to visit PETA.org/WearVegan
[[link removed]] . We need to open everyone's eyes to the cruelty that may be hiding in their
wardrobes.
Thank you so much for your activism, compassion, and support.
Kind regards,
Ingrid E. Newkirk
President
