Mamdani Wins

New York Post: Far-left Democrat Zohran Mamdani has won New York City’s mayoral race — winning a mandate to move to enact his budget-busting, socialist agenda, according to preliminary projections. The Associated Press called the race for Mamdani, 34, about 40 minutes after polls closed, and with at least a few hundred thousand votes still to be counted. Mamdani carried 50.4% of votes to Andrew Cuomo’s 41.3% at around 9:40 p.m. The projection — which came with 75% of votes counted — also found GOP nominee Curtis Sliwa with rock-bottom 7.5% (NYPost). Among the first public congratulations came from Alex Soros—son of George Soros and fellow Marxist radical: So proud to be a New Yorker! The American dream continues!  Congrats, Mayor @ZohranKMamdan (Soros). Wall Street Journal: We’ll soon learn if the 34-year-old Assemblyman has a pragmatic streak or sees his mission as making the city that never sleeps a socialist lab experiment…. the Assemblyman, who has never held a serious job outside of politics, has never demonstrated a talent for moderation. His smile is disarming, but his ideas are armed to the teeth. His mayoralty may test how much ruin there is in a city (WSJ).

Virginia Elects Democrat Spanberger Governor
And it wasn’t close. Politico reports: Abigail Spanberger won the race for governor of Virginia, flipping the governorship to Democratic control and becoming the first woman in the job in the commonwealth’s history. Throughout her campaign, Spanberger zeroed in on affordability and lowering costs for Virginians amid the longest government shutdown in U.S. history as well as President Donald Trump’s attempts to remake the federal government (Politico). Lila Rose: Pro-abortion Democrat Abigail Spanberger wins Governor of Virginia. She denies life-affirming care for children who survive abortion and supports aborting babies up to birth. Pray for Virginia (Rose).

California Passes Prop. 50—Giving Newsom a Further Gerrymandered Map
Los Angeles Times: California Democrats’ proposal to redraw congressional districts to stymie President Trump’s agenda was approved by voters . Proposition 50, one of the most expensive ballot measures in state history, was initially a coin toss when the state Legislature placed it on the Nov. 4 ballot in August. But supporters, led by Gov. Gavin Newsom, successfully used the proposal as a visceral way for Trump opponents to push back against the president during an off-year election about the esoteric topic of congressional redistricting…. Under the new congressional districts voters approved on Tuesday, Democrats could gain five seats in California’s 52-member congressional delegation, the largest of any state in the nation. It’s unclear, however, how much the measure will affect the balance of Congress because of redistricting efforts underway in GOP-led states such as Texas (LATimes).

Virginia Elects Attorney General Candidate Who Called for Death of His Opponent: ‘Three people, two bullets. Gilbert, hitler, and pol pot. Gilbert gets two bullets to the head’
Those who have been tracking with the contest know those texts came from Jay Jones. It’s worth highlighting: The man who wrote that is now the incoming chief law enforcement officer for the Commonwealth of Virginia. National Review:  Embattled Democrat Jay Jones, who spent recent weeks embroiled in a scandal surrounding violent text messages he sent in 2022, won Virginia’s off-year attorney general contest on Tuesday evening against GOP incumbent Jason Miyares. Jones’s victory was a major defeat for Republicans, who spent millions in advertising in the final stretch of the campaign to boost Miyares. Jones was leading 53 percent to Miyares’s 47 percent with 90 percent of ballots cast when the Associated Press called the race (National Review). Denny Burk: Hard to believe this is happening in America, but here we are (Burk). It would be ominous in any election cycle, but for all who are still reeling from the assassination of Charlie Kirk, this is ominous.

Democrat Rep. Mikie Sherrill Wins New Jersey Governor’s Race
Defeating three-time candidate Republican Jack Ciattarelli. Politico: Democratic Rep. Mikie Sherrill won the race for New Jersey governor Tuesday night, capitalizing on an anti-Trump sentiment to deliver her party a much-needed victory after last year’s losses up and down the ballot. The Associated Press called the race a little before 9:30 p.m. for Sherrill over Republican Jack Ciattarelli, a former member of the state Assembly who was making his third run for governor. She will succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy, giving Democrats a third term in a row in the governor’s mansion — a feat that has not been accomplished in the Garden State since 1961….Once Sherrill vacates her seat in Congress, a special election will be held to succeed her in the Democratic-leaning 11th District (Politico).

District Judge James Boasberg Hit With Articles of Impeachment
Boasberg is the judge who aided and facilitated the “Arctic Frost” project that tracked phone activity of at least 10 Republican senators. Fox News: Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, is formally introducing impeachment articles against U.S. District Judge James Boasberg on Tuesday for his role in the “Arctic Frost” probe. Republican allies of President Donald Trump have been criticizing Boasberg after news broke that he was the judge who signed off on subpoenas and other measures in former special counsel Jack Smith’s probe. “Chief Judge Boasberg has compromised the impartiality of the judiciary and created a constitutional crisis. He is shamelessly weaponizing his power against his political opponents, including Republican members of Congress who are faithfully serving the American people within their jurisdiction,” Gill told Fox News Digital (Fox News). Gill: Judge Boasberg signed off on frivolous nondisclosure orders to conceal the fact that sitting US Senators were being surveilled. Not only was this action egregiously improper; it was a gross violation of the separation of powers. Judge Boasberg is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors, is unfit for office, and should be impeached (Gill).

Biden DOJ Seized Trump’s Official Phone
As part of the Arctic Frost investigation. It’s an unprecedented act. Attorney General Pam Bondi: During the Arctic Frost Investigation, we found that Special Counsel seized President Trump’s government-issued phone. This means the Biden Administration turned over President Trump’s phone to Special Counsel—an UNPRECEDENTED action. In addition, Special Counsel subpoenaed all of President Trump’s PERSONAL phone records. We can never again allow this kind of government weaponization in America. I submitted these new documents to our partners on Capitol Hill. I commend our team at the FBI for working diligently to expose this (Bondi). New York Post: Trump called the cases, along with state prosecutions in New York for business fraud and Georgia on election-related counts, “lawfare” designed to derail his comeback campaign. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the intercepts were “further evidence of the egregious overreach and weaponization of government that took place under the previous White House.” “It was a clear effort by the Biden White House and the Biden DOJ to go after the president,” Leavitt said when asked by The Post (New York Post).

Trump Nominates Jared Isaacman NASA Administrator
Or, we should say “re-nominates” as he was put forward by Trump once before and pulled back after a “thorough review of prior associations.” In recent days Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has been serving as interim administrator. Trump: I am pleased to nominate Jared Isaacman, an accomplished business leader, philanthropist, pilot, and astronaut, as Administrator of NASA. Jared’s passion for Space, astronaut experience, and dedication to pushing the boundaries of exploration, unlocking the mysteries of the universe, and advancing the new Space economy, make him ideally suited to lead NASA into a bold new Era (Truth). Collin Rugg: Isaacman commanded the first all-civilian spaceflight mission to orbit Earth in 2021. He also founded Draken International, where he built the world’s largest private fleet of fighter jets (Rugg). CNN: The abrupt withdrawal of Isaacman earlier this year left a bad taste in the mouths of many within the White House, with some pointing fingers at a top Trump aide for convincing the president that Isaacman’s past Democratic donations disqualified him. That frustration only grew when the decision appeared to ignite a messy monthslong feud between Trump and billionaire Musk (CNN). Could the Isaacman nomination be an indicator of the relationship between Trump and Musk healing?

Populist Candidates Winning Globally; “The globalist elite has failed”
The contests that we saw in Virginia, New Jersey, New York City and elsewhere yesterday are important—and a setback for conservatives. But the broader trends we see around the world are pretty remarkable: Electorates have had it with the elites—and they seem to have the stomach or the mettle as well to push back hard. Pollster Henry Olsen: People want conservative populism. Argentine President Javier Milei’s recent unexpected win in his country’s congressional midterms is just one example…. In recent months conservative populists have won elections in Poland and Czechia, too…. Britain’s Nigel Farage and his Reform Party now leads all national polls, having swept May’s local elections, with the once-dominant Tories languishing at 20% approval…. And while PVV, The Netherlands’ premier populist party led by Geert Wilders, lost ground in last week’s elections, most of its losses went to other nationalist parties…. It’s not hard to see why conservative populists are winning worldwide. The globalist elite has failed to bring the peace, prosperity and cultural harmony it promised, and voters are increasingly turning to parties and leaders who can deliver the goods (New York Pollster).

Richard Cheney: 1941-2025
The former vice president has died at 84 of complications of cardiovascular disease, a condition that plagued him most of his adult life. He was polarizing, he was powerful—and he devoted his life to public service for the nation. Ed Morrissey: Cheney started his career in national politics as an advisor to Gerald Ford, then won a seat in the House and immediately became a part of leadership in the Reagan years. He focused on national security and the rebuilding of the US military in the 1980s, then became Defense Secretary under George H.W. Bush. Between the two Bush presidencies, Cheney went into the private sector and made a fortune with Halliburton, a leading supplier for the oil industry. Only when George W. Bush asked him to lead his running-mate search team did Cheney get back into electoral politics, and he accepted the position himself when Bush agreed to remake the office into a real partnership rather than a listless experience (Hot Air). Tom Cotton: Dick Cheney dedicated his life to the service of our nation and the people of Wyoming. He was a constant champion for a dominant military, strong and confident American leadership, free markets, and individual liberty. I extend my condolences to his family and friends (Cotton).
