Working Families Party

John,

It's official. Zohran Mamdani has defeated Andrew Cuomo again, and will be the next mayor of New York City.

More than a million New Yorkers just delivered a loud and impossible-to-ignore message: the time for status quo politics is at an end. And no amount of billionaire-funded attack ads can change that.

Republicans and corporate Democrats will try to paint this as a flash in the pan — that the win had more to do with Zohran as an individual, rather than the platform he ran on.

But we have proof that this political shockwave is rippling across the entire country, not just New York City. And billionaires should be terrified about the reckoning that’s coming their way.

WFP champions are winning everywhere tonight. Like Elizabeth Guzmán and Ghazala Hashmi in Virginia, or Bobby Sanchez and Shontá Brody in Connecticut. And there are hundreds more who are on pace to win elsewhere, too.

Our movement even delivered state Supreme Court victories, like the Pennsylvania voters who just preserved a 5-2 Democratic majority.

The common thread is that all of these campaigns were about speaking to the basic needs and material conditions of working families. It’s about standing for something, and promising to make life a little easier for the people who need it the most.

And the best part? These victories offer insight into what it takes to beat Trump, too.

It’s been 288 days since the inauguration, and while establishment Democrats still struggle to spark enthusiasm with voters, WFP candidates are building working-class support all over, thanks to help from people like you.

Thousands of volunteers knocked doors, texted, made phone calls, or sent postcards. In total, we had conversations with more than 600,000 voters in key municipalities and legislative districts while making key investments in the media to reach millions more.

We’re not stopping here, either. The elections tonight will serve as a blueprint for defeating MAGA, Trump, and their corporate lackeys in 2026.

As they continue to pillage and steal, and as establishment Democrats continue to offer meager opposition, we will offer up an alternate vision — one that builds a political system made of working families, for working families.

Pitch in tonight to help build upon this momentum as we set our sights on the midterms in 2026, and continue to build a different kind of political system for the many, not the few.
