More than 15,000 people in Indian River County rely on SNAP and WIC benefits, and they’re being directly impacted by the ongoing government shutdown. To help ease the burden, we’re collecting non-perishable food items like rice, beans, canned vegetables, cereal, and more for the Fellsmere Community Fridge.

Unfortunately, this crisis won’t end with charity alone. The only real solution is for our representatives to negotiate with Democrats and end the shutdown. Let them know we are not bargaining chips. Demand full funding for SNAP and Medicaid now.
