Friend,
Voters across the Commonwealth overwhelmingly rejected the right-wing extremists trying to politicize our courts and voted to retain all three Supreme Court justices! These results show that Pennsylvanians believe our courts should protect the rights of working families—not serve billionaires and corporate polluters.
We’re proud of what we accomplished together. The CVPA team and our volunteers made more than 19 million voter contacts across the state to educate voters on what was at stake — our voting rights, our democracy, and our environment.
And it paid off.
Pennsylvania’s pro-environment majority on the Supreme Court remains strong. This majority has already upheld and strengthened our state’s Environmental Rights Amendment —the constitutional guarantee to clean air, pure water, and access to open space.
These results are the wind at our backs as we continue to defend the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) — our state’s most effective tool to lower energy prices for working families while investing over $1 billion every year in clean energy jobs, healthier communities, and our democracy.
Corporate polluters hoped to flip the Court to block programs like RGGI. Instead, voters stood up for a clean, fair, and livable Pennsylvania.
Now, it’s time for Governor Shapiro and pro-environment legislators to stand firm against Senate Republicans’ efforts to dismantle this vital program. |
