[link removed] [[link removed]] I’ll be honest: It wasn’t exactly a surprise when I first heard members of Kansas GOP leadership were working with big-money supporters behind closed doors to draw me out of office.
What is surprising though? Just how lazy their excuses are.
I know you’ve heard them too. For months, we’ve seen Kansas Republicans push the absurd claims that their gerrymander would actually… protect our democracy? That ending all competitive Congressional elections in our state would somehow improve our representation in Washington?
It’s laughable. Republican legislators don’t even believe the lies they’re spreading across Kansas. But they expect us to fall for them hook, line, and sinker.
Listen, I don’t agree with Kansas GOP leadership on much these days. But we do agree on one thing: The outcome of this redistricting fight — right here in Kansas — could determine the House majority come next year.
To be completely candid, things are looking like a coin flip right now. I wish I could tell you with 100% certainty which direction things are heading… but I can’t. I do know this, though: Every ounce of support we’re able to earn in the next 72 hours makes a real, measurable difference in this fight.
