Today ties the record for the longest government shutdown in American history: 35 days.

The last time we saw a shutdown this long? Trump’s first shutdown in 2019.

And you know what? I have to hand it to him. No president has ever done this before. We’ve never seen a president so skilled at failing the American people and grinding our government to a halt.

This is not normal. And I refuse to let the chaos we’re witnessing become the status quo. Swing districts like ours are critical to holding the line and keeping pressure on Trump’s rogue administration, so I need you with me. Will you pitch in and help me bring common sense leadership back to Washington?

Take it from a former professor: Donald Trump is the kind of student who fails again and again — but always has the same excuse: It’s not my fault. No matter how much chaos and suffering Trump spreads, he never takes responsibility for his own actions.

High costs? Blame it on immigrants. Health care staffing shortages? Blame it on LGBTQ+ Americans. Government shutdowns? Blame it on Democrats… even when Republicans hold a majority in every branch of government.

Now, even while millions of families are suffering the consequences of a cruel freeze on SNAP benefits, Trump can’t help himself. He’s treating hungry kids like his own personal bargaining chip.

Donald Trump and all his MAGA allies in Congress are failures in every sense of the word. And you know what happens to students who fail again and again because of their own negligence? They get expelled.

The MAGA movement represents a clear danger to everything our country stands for. So I’m fighting back. I know the road ahead won’t be easy.
