This month I’ve been continuing to work hard to get action on the key issues that matter most to you.
Alongside the Berwick MP David Smith, I have written a joint letter to LNER, Network Rail and the UK Minister for Rail regarding local rail services.
We are concerned about the new timetable at Berwick-upon-Tweed station, which means there will be just one LNER train every two hours.
I've heard from many local residents who rely on this station to get to work and visit family or friends.
I hope my cross-party efforts will demonstrate to LNER and Network Rail that the situation is unacceptable and the decision to drastically alter the timetable needs to be reconsidered.
I will work constructively with anyone who wants to improve rail services for local people.
A few weeks ago, I secured a debate in the UK Parliament on energy infrastructure in rural areas.
I used this as an opportunity to outline my opposition to plans for mega-pylons across the Borders, which would harm our environment, scar the countryside, ruin good farmland and damage local residents’ quality of life.
I also raised the unsustainable number of planning applications for new energy infrastructure across the Borders, including battery storage systems, wind farms and solar panel sites.
These developments should not be forced on us.
People should have the right to choose what happens on their own doorstep.
Borders NHS workers do a tremendous job and provide patients with excellent care, but there is no doubt that many local people in Berwickshire would prefer to use health services in England.
In many cases, it would mean they could receive faster treatment.
I have spoken with Northumbria NHS and they would welcome reciprocal care, but the SNP seem to be refusing to allow it to happen.
It's basic common sense that taxpayers who fund our NHS should be able to use the services that suit them best.
I’ll keep campaigning to make sure that local people can access NHS services as quickly and easily as possible.
