I need to talk plainly about the insult to South Dakota families right now.

As open enrollment starts, millions of Americans are discovering their health insurance rates are spiking. Why? Because career politicians like Mike Rounds refuse to stray from the party line and are letting ACA tax credits expire. They are causing real harm to families, veterans, and furloughed federal employees just to score political points.

The problem isn't just the cost; it's the rank hypocrisy.

Here's the quick version of the political trick: Rounds and the guys in charge used budget gimmicks to make permanent tax breaks for billionaires and corporations—saying it "didn't cost anything" because the breaks were already on the books.

But when it comes to extending affordable healthcare for working families, suddenly it’s "too expensive."

Why should a tax break for a billionaire be "free," but affordable healthcare for a South Dakota nurse, farmer, or truck driver be "too expensive"? That hypocrisy really pisses me off, and it’s why I’m running for Senate.

I spent my life serving my country as an Air Force officer, federal ethics advisor, and Park Ranger. I swore an oath to support every American, and watching career politicians shortchange working families while protecting their Big Money donors is a betrayal of that oath.
