Friend, today is Election Day. And at this pivotal moment in our country, it couldn't be more important.

From key gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey, to California's Prop 50 ballot measure, New York's mayoral race, and special House elections across the country – now is the time to make our voices heard.

Because the truth is that everything is on the ballot: voting rights, health care, and the sanctity of our very democracy.

That's why your vote is so crucial. So whether you're in New York or anywhere in the country, here's what you can do to play your part:

* Find Your Polling Location and Hours – make sure you know where to vote and what hours your polling place is open. Don't know where your polling location is? Visit [link removed].
* Be Prepared – bring any required ID (requirements vary by state), double-check your registration status, and check your sample ballot. Visit [link removed].
* Stay in Line! If you're in line when the polls close, stay there! Election laws require that anyone in line before the polls close must be allowed to vote. So hang tight and don't let anyone turn you away.

As attorney general of New York, Letitia James has been on the front lines, defending voting rights and making sure every vote counts – even amid GOP efforts to gut the Voting Rights Act and gerrymander their way to victory.

Now, as that right is increasingly under threat, it's our civic duty to exercise it. By voting today, you're standing alongside millions of Americans who believe in a free and fair democracy.

Thank you for playing such an important role in this critical moment.

Team James
