Friend,

Immigrant children who are in detention are profoundly alone. They are separated from their homes and families by thousands of miles. Sometimes, there is not a single person in their detention facility who speaks their language. They are required to answer painfully personal questions asked by strangers who come and go with zero consistency.

Getting a Young Center Child Advocate—someone who speaks their language, shows up every single week, and makes sure they never ever go to Immigration Court or asylum hearings alone—can be a lifeline.

Accompaniment is central to the Young Center’s mission. Our Policy, Litigation, Technical Assistance, and Child Advocate programs uphold this core tenet by offering unwavering support to immigrant children who find themselves in government custody or living in communities where they face separation from their family.

We strive to ensure that they are centered, supported, and assisted by a community of caring and fiercely determined adults who will stop at nothing to keep them safe, to ensure that their voices are heard, and their wishes are uplifted.

That’s why this Giving Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, we need you to accompany us and help us raise $100,000 to support the Young Center.

These days, it’s not difficult to find example after example of our country’s failed immigration system and the harm inflicted on children. In addition to bearing witness to these injustices and fighting to advance the rights and safety of immigrant children seeking safety in the U.S., we need to accompany our communities, our cities, and those we love to stand against an administration that seeks to diminish values of equity, justice, courage, and community — values we all should strive to uphold.

Living our values means recognizing our interdependence. The injustices that disproportionately harm one group harm us all. The stronger we are in supporting each other, the more resilient we become.

So, will you accompany us this Giving Tuesday?
