Chronic disease is the number one most urgent crisis our country faces, and ultra-processed foods are a leading cause of this crisis.

These foods, which often lack any meaningful nutritional value and are engineered to be addictive, have been shown by peer-reviewed science to cause a number of chronic diseases, such as:

American children get an estimated 70% of their daily calories from ultra-processed foods, and much of this is coming from the foods they eat in schools!

ECD played a pivotal role in passing one of the most bipartisan pro-health bills in California's history. This bill, Assembly Bill 1264,  made California the first state in the nation to legally define ultra-processed foods and begin phasing the worst of them out of schools.

This is just the beginning. 

End Chronic Disease is on the front lines, advocating for reform to address this crisis directly through public policy at the state level and promoting public empowerment through media, storytelling, and education nationwide.
