Hi John,

In the midst of all the noise coming from other campaigns across the country, I’m sure it can be difficult to understand exactly why we all need to fundraise so frequently, particularly now.

Well, I thought it’d be helpful to take a moment and explain why the month of July is so important for the remainder of our campaign. But in case you don’t have the time to read this whole message, I’ll give you the abridged version first.

To make a long story short: As the first month of the third quarter, July will set the tone for the rest of this campaign, especially as we pivot to the general election and the critical last few months leading into Election Day.

Can you chip in right now to make sure we have a strong foundation as we start the third quarter?

Think about it this way -- the next time we reach a quarterly milestone like this, it will be October 1st. That’s just 33 days away from Election Day, meaning it’ll likely be too late to try and make up lost ground if we find ourselves falling behind our opponent.

That’s why we need to make sure that we don’t find ourselves in that position. And that’s what the third quarter is all about -- building up resources, growing our team, organizing key constituencies, and spreading our message far and wide.

None of that comes cheap, though. We’ll need to make sure we have the necessary funds if we want to keep Jared in office, because this is an ultra-competitive district that will continue to be the target of increasing levels of outside cash.

At this point in the race, everything builds on itself -- if we falter now, it’ll mean that we’ll continue faltering down the line. As a grassroots campaign, we’re counting on this team to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Now that I’ve laid it all out for you, I hope you’ll consider chipping in even just a few dollars today so that this team can have the strong third quarter it needs to win in November.
