Friend,
With less than 3 months before voting begins, we’re busier than ever, while still prioritizing ways to give back to our community. Here are some snapshots from the past few weeks with Team SJ!
On June 30th, we hosted a town hall titled “Organizing your Movement: A Virtual Town Hall on How to Turn Advocacy into Action.” The phenomenal community organizers Ariel Gibbs and Ariana Federico joined Sara to discuss different ways to channel advocacy into effective political action.

To celebrate the 4th of July, Sara spent the afternoon giving back by donating blood at the San Diego Blood Bank.

The San Diego Regional East County Chamber of Commerce endorsed our campaign this week. We are so honored to have support from a group that knows firsthand the challenges facing our community and small businesses today. Sara looks forward to working with them to deliver for San Diego and East County as their Member of Congress.

This week, Sara also participated in the virtual #RunInSolidarity 5k to support local Black-owned small businesses, honor the Black Americans we’ve lost to an unjust system, and reflect on the work ahead.

During these unprecedented times, our campaign has worked to find creative solutions to stay connected with our community. Every day for the last four months, we’ve been reaching out to our neighbors via phone, postcards, and video calls. COVID-19 may be keeping us indoors, but we are still able to connect with one another. If you are interested in making calls and volunteering, email [email protected] for more information!

Thank you for your support,
Team SJ
