Prince William County’s Department of Social Services has opened applications for the 2025–2026 Fuel Assistance Program to help income-eligible households manage winter heating costs. Residents can apply online, by phone or in person by Nov. 14, 2025, for help covering electricity, gas, oil and other heating expenses.

Prince William County’s Planning Office is developing a Small Area Plan for the Vint Hill Road Corridor to balance growth, protect the area’s rural character and strengthen local economic opportunities. Residents, business owners and community members are invited to join the conversation at a community kickoff meeting on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, from 6–8 p.m. at Patriot High School, where participants will help shape the vision for the corridor’s future.
 Prince William County Launches New Digital Towing Platform for Faster, Easier Access
Prince William County has modernized its private towing process with the launch of Autura, a new online system that lets residents quickly search for and locate towed vehicles without calling the public safety communications center. The platform streamlines operations, improves accuracy and gives residents real-time access to the information they need.

Prince William Community Services has launched the “Let’s Talk Fentanyl” campaign to help parents and caregivers start honest, informed conversations with their teens about the dangers of fentanyl.  Chinn Park Library to Close for Renovation to Enhance Small Business Resources
Chinn Park Library will close for renovations beginning Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 5 p.m., and is expected to reopen in summer 2026 with exciting new spaces and resources to support small businesses and entrepreneurs. During the renovation, a temporary library will operate in the Trustee Conference Room on the lower level, open Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., starting January 20, 2026.
