John,
On the orders of Donald Trump, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is busy preparing for the mass arrest and deportation of immigrants living in the United States. Its agents want to use hotels as temporary jails for immigrants. By allowing this, hotel chains throughout the United States are enabling ICE's planned mass arrests, but we, as customers and consumers, can do something about it.
Tell hotel chains that they should not profit from ICE!
The stories from the concentration camps along the U.S.-Mexico border are horrifying and should shake every one of us to our cores. Too often, big corporations profit from ICE and Customs and Border Patrol's (CBP) inhumane and immoral tactics. In effect, they are enabling ICE and CBP's behavior and it must stop.
Hotel chains like Best Western, Hilton, Marriott and others should know better. They must end this practice immediately. We have the power to tell hotel chains to end this NOW. Sign the petition to end this madness!
Guests staying at hotels should not be left wondering whether ICE agents occupy the room next door, or if its families being held against their will, on their way to concentration camps. And working people should not be made into support staff for such efforts.
From mass arrests, deportations, and detentions in concentration camps, prisons, military bases, and even hotels, we can clearly see the path ICE, CBP, and their enablers are on. Stopping hotels from allowing ICE to use them as temporary detention centers could mark a major turning point and save lives.
Stop hotels from profiting from ICE's destructive practices. Now.
Thanks for all you do,
