 John, my goal is to spend many weekends out on the campaign trail, meeting with North Carolinians to hear out their concerns and to discuss our shared goals for this state and our nation — not worrying over our fundraising numbers with my team. Unfortunately, last month we raised a bit less online than we’d hoped for. Now, I’m not telling you that the sky is falling. Our campaign is still strong. We’re going to keep working hard to build the infrastructure to win, and we are truly grateful to the folks who’ve stepped up to provide the resources allowing us to do just that. But our shortfall does mean that we can’t enact the most aggressive plans we’d put together for November. We have to stay within the limits of our budget, and given my opponent’s recent polling gains, we’re concerned about losing the momentum we need to stay ahead. Thanks very much, Roy Cooper
