Like so many, when I came to Colorado over 30 years ago, I was hooked on all that makes our state special–the great outdoors, the people, and the way we root for one another. It is an honor to serve our state in my first elected office as Attorney General. And of all the roles I’ve had, I’m most proud to be "husband" to Heidi and "dad" to our two kids. (If you were to ask our very good dog Zeke, he’d tell you my best role is "reliable treat source.") I decided to run for Governor because I want a Colorado where our kids get the best possible start in life, are prepared and able to build their lives here, can afford to live here, and our families can truly thrive. As your attorney general, my north star is: Always stand up for Colorado. I’m proud that we have fought and won against Big Pharma, irresponsible corporate actors like Dollar General, and the lawless Trump administration. We’ve taken them all to court — including 41 times and counting against Trump. From protecting our land, air, and water to defending our immigrant and LGBTQ+ neighbors to blocking attacks on our right to vote to making life more affordable for all Coloradans, we’ve proven that when we fight, we win. I know there is only one way to fight a lawless bully like our current President. I always have and always will take a stand for what is right. To appease lawless bullies, like Trump and those he has picked for his cabinet, is wrong and does not work. Coloradans want a leader who sees this as clearly as that. I am the only one in this race who has shown that conviction — consistently and repeatedly, with no excuses. As governor, I’ll be ready to hit the ground running on day one.
