Financial Action Task Force (FATF): The FATF Recommendations
The FATF Recommendations set out a comprehensive and consistent framework of measures which countries should implement in order to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as the financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Countries have diverse legal, administrative and operational frameworks and different financial systems, and so cannot all take identical measures to counter these threats. The FATF Recommendations, therefore, set an international standard, which countries should implement through measures adapted to their particular circumstances.
GNET: AI, Illicit Liquidity, and the Next Phase of Counter-Terrorist Finance
Terrorist groups are increasingly using digital assets to move money outside traditional financial oversight. These same channels – blockchain networks, stablecoins, and encrypted apps – now underpin a wider illicit economy that spans cybercrime, sanctions evasion, and elite capital movement. Together, they form a shadow financial infrastructure that operates at a scale and velocity traditional enforcement cannot match. As regulators struggle to keep pace, artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a force multiplier.
EU Knowledge Hub: Antisemitism in Europe - Old Hatreds, New Dynamics
Many European countries are experiencing a dramatic rise in antisemitic hate crimes. The EU Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) has documented massive increases – in some countries, reports surged by as much as 400 percent since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict. In Germany, recorded incidents nearly doubled in 2024 compared to the previous year (8,627 versus 4,886), particularly after October. At the same time, the OSCE/ODIHR stresses that underreporting remains a major obstacle to capturing the true scale of the problem.

Wall Street Journal: The New Right’s New Antisemites
An old political poison is growing on the new right, led by podcasters and internet opportunists who are preoccupied with the Jews. It is spreading wider and faster than we thought, and it has even found an apologist in Kevin Roberts, president of the venerable Heritage Foundation. On Thursday Mr. Roberts released a startling video to oppose the alleged “cancellation” of Tucker Carlson and even of Hitler fanboy Nick Fuentes, whom Mr. Carlson had hosted for a chummy podcast interview. On Monday’s Carlson show, Mr. Fuentes assailed “organized Jewry” as the obstacle to American unity and “these Zionist Jews” as the impediment to the right’s success, while calling himself a fan of Joseph Stalin.

Jewish Insider: RJC summit confronts right-wing antisemitism without naming names
Until last week, the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual leadership summit was expected to be a triumphant gathering to celebrate President Donald Trump’s accomplishments in the Middle East, chief among them his administration’s recently brokered ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas. That all changed after Tucker Carlson hosted the neo-Nazi influencer Nick Fuentes on his podcast for a sympathetic interview, provoking fierce backlash. By the time that Kevin Roberts, the president of the Heritage Foundation, came to Carlson’s defense on Thursday, the RJC recognized its conference would require a thematic update to more forcefully emphasize the urgency of confronting rising antisemitism — and its enablers — within the GOP.

Jewish Telegraphic Agency: Rep. Randy Fine denounces Tucker Carlson as ‘most dangerous antisemite in America’
Most of the Republicans denouncing an explosion of antisemitism on the right at this weekend’s Republican Jewish Coalition convention refrained from naming names. Today, Tucker Carlson is the most dangerous antisemite in America,” he said during an address Saturday morning. “He has chosen to take on the mantle of leader of a modern-day Hitler Youth.”
Jewish News Syndicate: ‘Clearly have antisemitism element of our party,’ McCormick says at RJC

New York Post: Hamas releases three more bodies — including Omer Neutra — after Israeli airstrikes hit Gaza
Hamas released three more bodies Sunday – including that of Omer Neutra – after last week’s botched handover that involved no corpses of hostages and helped prompt renewed Israeli airstrikes on Gaza. The terrorist group handed over a trio of caskets to the Red Cross, claiming that this time they really do contain the remains of three of the 11 hostages whose bodies are still unrecovered — a similar statement to Friday’s exchange that turned out to be false, according to Israeli officials. The handoff took place a few hours after an airstrike hit Gaza City, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accusing Hamas of operating inside an area currently occupied by his troops.

One of the main proposals for rebuilding the Gaza Strip that US President Donald Trump’s administration has presented to potential Gulf donor countries envisions the construction of roughly half a dozen residential regions on the eastern half of the Strip, which is currently under Israeli control, two Arab diplomats familiar with the matter told The Times of Israel. The diplomats said that “new Gaza” is the term frequently used by US officials to describe the project that will take place on the eastern side of the Yellow Line — the newly created boundary to which the IDF withdrew on October 10 at the start of the Gaza ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Times of Israel: Yad Vashem says it has compiled 5 million names of Jews murdered in Holocaust
Yad Vashem, Israel’s World Holocaust Remembrance Center, said Monday that it has recovered the names of five million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, a milestone it called “historic” in its decades-long mission to restore the identities of the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis. The announcement comes as the number of living Holocaust survivors able to give testimony dwindles, Yad Vashem said. Of about 200,000 Holocaust survivors living today, about half will no longer be with us in seven years, according to a calculation made by the Claims Conference earlier this year.
Lebanon
Naharnet: Aoun: Lebanon has no choice but negotiation with an enemy
President Joseph Aoun stressed Monday that Lebanon’s “only choice” is negotiations with Israel. “Lebanon has no choice other than negotiation, seeing as in politics there are three work tools: diplomacy, economy and war. The end of every war in the world has been negotiation, and negotiation does not take place with a friend or an ally, but rather with an enemy,” Aoun added.

Mali
Financial Times: Jihadis encircle Mali’s capital as they close in on power
After jihadi fighters led by Mokhtar Belmokhtar, the notorious “One-Eyed”, entered the ancient library city of Timbuktu more than a decade ago, they banned dancing and singing, and imposed sharia law. Their takeover of much of northern Mali triggered the 2013 invasion by France in “Operation Serval”, which pushed the Islamists back and prolonged the rule of the weak French-backed government. Today Belmokhtar is dead, the French have been expelled — replaced by Russian mercenaries — and the democratic government has been deposed by a military junta.
Reuters: Jihadists' fuel blockade poses biggest threat yet to Mali's military rulers
A two-month-old fuel blockade by al Qaeda-linked militants has all but paralysed the capital of Mali, turning the screws on the military government and raising concern that the jihadists might try eventually to impose their rule on the West African country. Security analysts say the group known as Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM), which has been operating for months within 50 km (30 miles) of Bamako, currently has neither the intention nor the military capability to seize the city of 4 million people, which it briefly attacked last year.
Nigeria
Reuters: Nigeria says US help against Islamist insurgents must respect its sovereignty
Nigeria said on Sunday it would welcome U.S. help in fighting Islamist insurgents as long as its territorial integrity is respected, responding to threats of military action by President Donald Trump over what he said was the ill treatment of Christians in the West African country. Trump said on Saturday that he had asked the Defense Department to prepare for possible "fast" military action in Nigeria if Africa's most populous country fails to crack down on the killing of Christians. But Trump on Sunday told reporters the U.S. military could deploy troops to Nigeria or carry out air strikes to stop what he called the killing of "very large numbers" of Christians there, but gave no further details.
The Africa Report: Sahel terror group JNIM hits Nigeria for the first time – a sign of expansion plans
Jama'at Nusrat ul-Islam wa al-Muslimin (JNIM) claimed its first attack in Nigeria on 28 October. The strike, in the north of Kwara State near the Benin border, left one soldier dead. The Sahel-based group says it seized weapons, equipment and cash. This unprecedented attack on Nigerian soil shows JNIM’s push to expand. Until now it has operated in Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger. The group, led by Iyad Ag Ghaly, said in June it intended to set up a katiba – a brigade – in Nigeria. Kwara State, in the North-Central region, is strategically placed and shares notoriously porous borders with Benin. In recent months JNIM has stepped up attacks on Beninese territory, and they have grown in scale. Its preferred area of operations for fighters coming from Burkina Faso and Niger has been the W and Pendjari national parks in northern Benin.

I am hereby making Nigeria a "COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN" — But that is the least of it."

SOFREP: US Africa Command’s Golis Mountain Strike Was A Message, And ISIS-Somalia Heard It
U.S. Africa Command confirmed an airstrike on ISIS-Somalia in the Golis Mountains earlier this month, with the target area pegged at roughly 85 kilometers southeast of Bosaso. AFRICOM said it acted in coordination with Somalia’s federal government and kept details on units and platforms locked down for operational security. That is classic tight-lipped operational discipline. The location tells its own story. The rugged Bari highlands have sheltered ISIS cells for years, and hitting there signals that U.S. reach and Somali cooperation remain aligned where it counts.
