Message from Congressman Scott Fitzgerald
Good afternoon, everyone!
As the government shutdown marks day 34, I want to take a moment to make one thing abundantly clear: your family's livelihood should never be a partisan pawn. The Left's refusal to reopen the government is unacceptable.
Recently, House Democrat Whip Katherine Clark said, "of course there will be families that are going to suffer, we take that responsibility very seriously, but it is one of the few leverage times we have."
I don't believe hundreds of thousands of Americans going without pay, airport delays due to understaffed air traffic control operations, and SNAP funding should be used as partisan leverage, ever. That's why I joined my fellow House Republicans in voting to keep the government OPEN back in September, while Senate Democrats have blocked a funding proposal that would open the government 14 times. The safety, security, and well-being of your family should always come before politics.
As a friendly reminder, my team and I are here to help. Both my Oconomowoc and Washington, D.C. offices remain fully open during the government shutdown. Please don't hesitate to reach out or visit my website if you have any questions or need assistance with a federal agency.
Keep reading on to hear additional updates about what's been happening in Washington and Wisconsin. I hope you have a great week.
-Scott
Congressman Fitzgerald Statement on the Passing of His Father, Longtime Wisconsin Law Enforcement Official Stephen Fitzgerald
My father, Stephen Fitzgerald, dedicated fifty years to public service and law enforcement in Wisconsin, serving as Superintendent of the Wisconsin State Patrol, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Wisconsin, Sheriff of Dodge County, and President of the Badger State Sheriffs’ Association. His integrity, leadership, and commitment to his community set a standard for all who knew him. My brother Jeff and I are grateful for the example he set and take comfort in the lasting legacy he leaves behind.

Government Reopening Proposal Would Be the Costliest in History
According to the Committee for a Responsible Budget, Democrats' egregious demands to open the government would be the most expensive reopening package ever considered. Abandon these unprecedented demands, vote for the clean CR, and end the Schumer Shutdown!
Rep. Fitzgerald Tours Ball Corporation in Fort Atkinson
Recently, I had the opportunity to tour Ball Corporation in Fort Atkinson. It was great to witness the craftsmanship and commitment that define Wisconsin manufacturing. I’m proud to work alongside the Trump Administration to advance pro-growth, Made-in-America policies that keep our manufacturing base strong and our supply chains secure.
