John,
When I signed the Protect Reproductive Options Act into law in 2023, I said something that still holds true today: freedom means being able to make your own decisions about your body, your health, and your future.
That law enshrined the right to abortion and reproductive healthcare in Minnesota statute — so no matter who sits on future courts, Minnesotans’ rights will remain protected. But make no mistake: those rights are still under attack.
Across the country, we’re seeing what happens when extremists chip away at reproductive freedom — patients forced to travel hundreds of miles for care, doctors threatened for doing their jobs, and families robbed of the right to decide what’s best for them.
That’s why I’m proud to join Women Winning for Allies in Action on Thursday, November 6, from 6–8 PM at Bauhaus Brew Labs in Minneapolis.
This event is about what true allyship looks like — all of us standing together to defend reproductive rights and ensure every person can access the care they need, when they need it.
For Gwen and me, this fight is personal. We know the pain and uncertainty that can come with fertility challenges, and we know how essential it is for families to have access to reproductive healthcare and the freedom to make their own choices.
So I’m asking you to join me. Show up. Speak out. Let’s keep Minnesota a leader in reproductive freedom and justice — not just for our state, but for the entire nation.
I hope to see you there.
– Governor Tim Walz
