The stakes couldn’t be higher in Virginia tomorrow. This is the only state in the South that hasn’t restricted abortion since Donald Trump’s Supreme Court overturned Roe. Democrats currently have a one-seat majority in the Virginia House of Delegates; with every single seat on the ballot this year, we can’t afford to give even one inch to Republicans.

Vote Mama has endorsed a powerhouse coalition of 23 pro-choice Democratic moms, who are running for the VA House of Delegates to hold—and even expand—our lead and protect Virginia from GOP extremists.

Make no mistake: what happens in Virginia also extends beyond state lines. The outcome in this bellwether state will send a nationwide message on where voters stand in the face of Trump’s return to office—especially his attacks on our federal workforce—and it can power our momentum heading into 2026.

At the top of the ticket leading our Virginia moms is Rep. Abigail Spanberger, who is running to flip the governorship with her proven track record of fighting for Virginians.

And in her competitive race to become the next governor of New Jersey, Rep. Mikie Sherrill brings her career expertise in public service as a standout leader for working families.

On top of being Vote Mama endorsed candidates, these two pioneering mamas have a lot in common—both know how to cut through the chaos, make decisions under pressure, and get things done.

First, they both helped FLIP the House in 2018. Then, they were roommates in D.C. This dynamic duo also shares a history of dedicating their careers to serving the country: with Rep. Sherrill being a former Navy helicopter pilot and Rep. Spanberger being a former CIA case officer.

Now, in their individual races for governor, both of these moms have made headlines and topped the polls while running historic campaigns against tough Republican opponents.

Having moms like Rep. Spanberger and Rep. Sherrill leading their states means having them focus policymaking on the issues that everyday families face—from education, to childcare, to cost of living.
