This is what Parkinson's looks like: Mylene's story

Mylene Pereira built a full life with her family and career before being diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2015. Her diagnosis brought tremors, dystonia, anxiety, and many more challenges, but she learned to advocate for herself and speak openly about mental health. After her Parkinson’s diagnosis, Mylene found strength in everyday joys, from family laughter to caring for her plants and sharing her story.  Her journey reminds us that even small moments can help us move forward.

Upcoming event

Falls are a leading cause of injury and hospitalization for individuals living with Parkinson’s, often resulting in reduced mobility and quality of life. During our webinar on Wednesday, November 19 from 2 to 3 p.m. ET, we will examine risk factors, prevention, and how to get up if a fall does occur. This must-see session will offer valuable tools to enhance safety and support independence while living with Parkinson’s.
