Simon Remington is the Events Lead Community Champion for Alcohol Change UK. He had a lifesaving liver transplant after his alcohol consumption led to severe liver disease and now channels his experience into delivering a series of events across the Midlands to help people understand more about alcohol.
In addition to his day job and volunteering for Alcohol Change UK, Simon organises the 'Let's Talk Alcohol' events across the Midlands. These are an informal, welcoming space to discuss alcohol and support available - focusing on education, choice, and community. The October event, held at The Good Intent pub in Birmingham and which was opened by the Lord Mayor, included keynote talks, non-alcoholic drink tastings, as well as having a scanner on site for free liver health checks.
