Why is the Texas AG sitting on the sidelines? [View this email in your browser.]([link removed]

John, here's what a state AG ca do:
Earlier this month, Democratic AGs in 23 states and the District of Columbia sued Trump to restore funding he'd gutted from solar energy projects. Just yesterday, three governors, together with Democratic AGs in 22 states and the District of Columbia, won their emergency lawsuit against Trump to release contingency funds for SNAP benefits, thereby saving 42 million Americans from imminent starvation.
Democratic AGs are our first line of defense against Trump’s tariffs, his impounding of our education dollars, energy dollars, and nutrition assistance dollars, and his conscripting of our state National Guard.
Wouldn’t it be nice if Texas AG Ken Paxton, arguably one of the highest profile and most powerful state AGs in the country, would join them? For the benefit of Texans?
At Nathan Johnson HQ, we’re leaving no stone unturned to win this race. There are over 8M registered *Democrats* here in the state of Texas. My team and I are working every single day to reach as many Texas voters as we possibly can and to share our vision for an Attorney General’s office that serves **Texans, not Trum**p. Every little bit we do pushes us a little further towards victory.
Right-wing Super PACs know we’re coming for them, and they’re getting nervous. They’ll be spending big in this race. **To stay ahead of them, we need your help right now.**
[**Please donate $5 (or more!) right now and help power our history-making victory by electing a Democrat as Texas' top lawyer and putting the AG's Office back to work for Texans.**]([link removed]
John, t
this open race for Attorney General comes down to leadership. After four sessions and eight years in the Texas Senate tackling some of our state’s biggest problems, I’ve learned how to fight and how to win, when to throw a punch and when to lend a hand, and I see every day in my work the importance of respecting the rule of law and honoring our constitutional rights. That’s the kind of leadership we need in the Attorney General’s office; not a Ken Paxton look-alike whose extremists viewpoints are at odds with our nation’s Constitution.
John, we don’t have billionaires or Abbott’s SuperPac to help power us to victory. What we do have is a lot of supporters chipping in a few bucks at time — folks just like you. **[Please, can you help power our team to victory by chipping in right now?]([link removed]
