For the last five months Defend our Courts has been ringing the alarm bell about the impending disaster for Democrats in the upcoming November 4th Pennsylvania Supreme Court race. 

The situation on the ground is dire. We are being outspent, MAGA has more canvassers, they’ve nearly caught up to us in mail ballots, and polling is showing that we could lose.

Now, the entire Democratic movement has awoken to the blinking warning signs and the big guns are coming out: President Barack Obama just issued an urgent statement drawing attention to this race and urging Pennsylvanians to vote.

This is a huge reprieve for besieged Pennsylvania Democrats but will it be enough? 

The stakes of this race could not be higher. Losing this court means MAGA can implement an extreme abortion ban, conduct a blood red redistricting of the Pennsylvania Congressional map, and rig the 2026 and 2028 elections. 

Given Pennsylvania’s 19 electoral college votes, losing this court means Democrats never win PA again and without PA there is a real possibility that we could never win a Presidential election again (every recent election in which we’ve lost PA, Democrats lose the Presidency).

When the dust settles on November 5th we need to be able to say that we left nothing on the table, went for broke, and did everything in our power to save this critical court.
