The cruelty is the point.
Despite this being the Republican’s shutdown, Trump’s administration and the GOP are refusing to keep SNAP benefits funded. That’s right — the USDA has a special fund to keep food on tables, but Trump just won’t use it.
As a kid, my family used SNAP benefits to put food on the table. My single mom worked hard, but sometimes we couldn’t make ends meet.
Republicans don’t care if kids and elders go hungry, and if parents have to skip a meal. It’s shameful.
But as Minnesotans, we know when to step in with a helping hand. So, if you can, will you make a donation to Second Harvest Heartland Food Bank? They’re one of the nation’s largest food bank networks, and they serve hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans across this state.
