John,

Yesterday, a federal judge ruled that the Trump administration must use
the emergency funds at their disposal to fund the SNAP — a program that
over 440,000 Minnesotans and millions of Americans rely on.

It shouldn’t take a court order for the America First president to feed
the hungry.

The cruelty of this all was the point. This administration doesn’t know
what it means to be a good neighbor — they only care about themselves.

While Trump played political games, my administration directed $4 million
in emergency funding to shore up our food shelves. And here in Minnesota,
we already feed our kids free breakfast and lunch at school every single
day.

This isn’t just what Minnesotans do. It’s who we are. We look out for our
neighbors and stand up for our values.

Together, we’ll continue to build a state that leads with empathy,
kindness and grace.

I’m grateful,

Tim Walz
