The Trump regime’s shutdown has left tens of millions of families facing hunger and uncertainty. Even with $5 billion in emergency USDA funds available to provide relief, the administration is still refusing to disburse them.
Late yesterday, a federal judge ordered the government to release those funds. But after ongoing delay (and outright refusal), it’s unclear whether the administration will comply. Meanwhile, 42 million people remain in limbo – and millions more are bracing for skyrocketing health care premiums as Republicans refuse to address the healthcare crisis.
This is not incompetence. It’s a choice. A choice to withhold care, to use hunger as leverage, and to make working people bear the cost of political cruelty.
As Republicans in Congress turn their backs, we turn toward each other.
Across the country, people are coming together to feed neighbors, support shelters, and push back against a Republican-led government that’s abandoned its duty to the people. This weekend, the No Kings Alliance is calling for a nationwide mobilization rooted in solidarity and action.

- Support your local food bank or mutual aid network. Monetary donations or food items both make a real difference. Please contact them to find out what is most in need.
- Collect and distribute supplies – nonperishables, baby formula, hygiene products – to shelters or community centers near you. Please contact them to find out what is most in need.
From rural towns to city neighborhoods, people are standing together to make sure no one goes hungry while the powerful hoard what’s ours.
We’ve seen what collective action can do. When millions refused to accept government cruelty before, we made history. Now we need that same energy again – feeding bodies, fueling our movement, and showing that compassion is stronger than cruelty.
