Halloween is a radical act of community building. It’s a night when boundaries blur: between the living and the dead, between private and public, between “my property” and “our block”. Children, teens, and adults roam freely. Strangers knock on doors. Sidewalks, alleys, and streets become gathering spaces—like this yearly celebration in Takoma.
