We’re emailing today with a quick round-up of news that might interest you and your church…

2: Church Action on Poverty Sunday

Thank you to the many, many of you who took part in Church Action on Poverty Sunday events this month. Collection donations have been adding up in our offices and we’ve been humbled and encouraged by your generosity! If you haven’t yet sent your church’s collection, there’s a link below.

3: Ask your church to speak up for children

You may have seen that we and the Joint Public Issues Team are encouraging church leaders to sign our open letter, calling for the unjust and harmful two-child restriction in social security payments to be lifted. More than 100 church leaders signed up in the first week, which is great to see! Please ask yours to sign the letter too!

4: Is your church a Living Wage employer?

If so, you’ll need to be aware that the rates increased this month to £14.80 an hour in London, and £13.45 an hour everywhere else. Many churches have signed up. If you’ve not yet done so, click on the briefing button below.

5: A special Christmas offer on books

We’ve published several powerful books in recent years with people with first-hand experience of poverty - including a mixture of poems and prayers, recipes and reflections. For the next few weeks we’re offering 25% off if you buy a bundle of four books - they’re perfect ethical Christmas presents for friends or family, or a lovely addition to your church’s shared resources.
