Happy Halloween, John! I hope you're having a fun and cozy night. I don't want to interrupt the festivities, so I'll make this quick. With Election Day around the corner, right now is the most critical time to surge support for EMILYs List women up and down the ballot. Let me explain: 

Over the past week, I've been on the ground in New Jersey and Virginia. I’ve talked to voters, candidates, and volunteers. And I can tell you firsthand: our women's races will be close.

There's a concept in politics, beloved by fundraisers and field organizers alike: the margin of effort. When the polls are tight, and a race could go either way, what matters most is the heart, grit, and commitment of a candidate and her supporters. If we put in the work, we’ll win. If we don't, we won't. It's that simple.

Critical races like Abigail Spanberger’s (VA-GOV), Rep. Mikie Sherrill’s (NJ-GOV), and Justice Christine Donohue’s (PA-SC) now fall squarely within the margin of effort. And your support can help make sure we reach as many voters as possible before Nov. 4.
