Dear Friend,
Just a few weeks ago, I had the privilege of preaching the Gospel in Brussels, Belgium, one of the most diverse places on the continent. This melting pot city is often called the political and financial capital of Europe. People from all walks of life came out on a cool fall evening, eager to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Brussels’ ING Arena was filled to capacity, and we set up two overflow areas so that those who couldn’t fit inside the main hall could still find out how they could have “living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3, NKJV). With the help of interpreters, simultaneous translation was provided in five spoken languages—French, Flemish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Slovak—and two sign languages.
We give God all the glory that more than 1,100 people came forward to repent of their sins and put their faith in Him—and nearly half of them were young people!
Our volunteer counselors connected with these men, women, and children and prayed with them in their native languages. Luc was among those local Christians who were trained through our Christian Life and Witness Course to help these brand-new believers.
At the end of the service, Luc met Jules.* This 60-year-old man had attended church with his family many times over the years, but he had never been willing to surrender his life to the Lord—until that night. With Luc by his side, he prayed in Flemish to receive Jesus Christ in repentance and faith. We praise God for this new brother!
Will you please pray for each person who made a decision for Jesus Christ? Ask the Lord to strengthen them and make them bold witnesses for Him. Please lift up the local churches that are working hard to disciple these men and women.
