Washington D.C. – Today is day 31 of the Democrat shutdown. Unfortunately, Americans continue to be harmed by lost wages, benefits not being paid, and an economic slowdown as Democrats choose to keep the government closed. Despite the Teamsters Union, multiple airline industry unions, and the largest federal employee union all imploring the Democrats to change course this week, we remain shut down as Democrats believe the “suffering” of the American people gives them “leverage” to pass their radical agenda.

Americans are feeling the real life impacts of the Democrat Shutdown:

  • 2 million paychecks missed by Americans
  • 20,000+ flights delayed or cancelled this week
  • 42 million Americans denied SNAP benefits on November 1.

All that needs to happen for SNAP benefits to go to needy families is for five Democrat Senators to vote for the clean, non-partisan continuing resolution – just like they did every time when Biden was President.

Instead, Senate Democrats have voted 13 times over the past month to keep the government shutdown.

I remain committed to working on finding a path forward. Our offices in Addison and Washington, D.C. have and will continue to remain open and available to help you or answer any questions you may have.

I always enjoy meeting with North Texans when they visit D.C.! On Monday, the Irving Chamber of Commerce stopped by to talk about business growth and opportunities back home. This was also my first chance to meet the new Chairman, Harry Lake - thank you for coming by!

Had a great discussion on Tuesday morning with Anna Palmer of Punchbowl News on the booming digital creator economy, and the growth we expect to see in the years ahead. You can watch our conversation here.

If you are a creator, we would love to hear your story. We want to know the challenges you are facing in the industry, and how we can help. You can fill out the form on my website, here.

I really enjoyed meeting NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang on Tuesday! We had an excellent conversation about how the U.S. can lead the world in the AI race.

In less than a year, NVIDIA is now manufacturing the most advanced chips for AI right here in the U.S., a huge win for American based manufacturing.

I had the chance to catch up with Cornell President Kotlikoff when he was visiting Capitol Hill this week. We discussed the latest happenings on campus and my recent conversation with the class of first-year students at Cornell.

This week, I joined the Bottom Line live from the Fox Studio. I have been talking about the impacts of the Democrat Shutdown this week, and how many Americans and Texans are continuing to feel the pain inflicted by the Democrats. You can watch my interviews from this week linked in the News section below.

While at the studio I ran into Guy Benson, host of the Guy Benson Show on Fox News Radio.

Always enjoy seeing my friend, Al Zapanta, a member of the Irving City Council, and also the CEO of the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce. I joined him at a reception recognizing members who have demonstrated a commitment to fostering economic cooperation between the U.S. and Mexico.

Many Texans were visiting our nation’s capital this week! I had the chance to catch up with members of the North Texas Commission. NTC is a nonprofit that improves the economic vitality, infrastructure and lifestyle of 13 counties in North Texas, including Tarrant and Dallas.

It was awesome to catch up with some Texas-24 residents as they stopped by the office during their visit to Washington. They all represent small businesses from North Texas and are graduates visiting with the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Voices program.

Wishing families across Texas-24 a safe, fun, and spooky Halloween! 🎃

Texas-24 Work of the Week

This week I reintroduced the Caring for Mothers Act of 2025, this life saving legislation not only makes it easier for mothers to choose adoption over abortion, it will also give countless newborns the right to life.

Texas-24 Hometown Hero

This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Heroes are the men and women serving at the Grapevine Police Department. They keep our community safe day and night – not only by responding in times of need, but this week they hosted a Trunk or Treat for a night of safe and festive Halloween fun!
