There is less than one week until People, Power, Resilience, our 20th Anniversary event in New York City on November 3!

We are honored to be featuring aja monet, a Grammy-nominated musician, poet, storyteller, and organizer born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  For years, aja monet has been a powerful part of the movement for social justice.  Her poetry explores gender, race, migration, and spirituality. Her debut poetry album, when the poems do what they do, was nominated for a Grammy Best Spoken Word Poetry Album in 2024. aja monet released her latest book of poems, florida water, with Haymarket Books on June 3rd, 2025.

We will also be displaying the work of artist Nzingah Oyo. Oyo is an American-born, Brooklyn-based visual artist, photographer, and curator. Her work depicts layered narratives that examine and celebrate culture, politics, and global social dynamics.

Join us on November 3rd in NYC for People, Power, Resilience—an evening to renew our commitment to solidarity, creativity, and building lasting social change even during these times of crisis
