Democrat Government Shutdown Update

Democrats have held the government hostage for 31 days – putting paychecks for troops and federal workers', funding for SNAP and WIC, and air travel and air safety all in jeopardy.

Recently, some of the largest unions representing millions of working Americans, such as the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) and Coalition of Airline Pilots Associations (CAPA), have called on Senate Democrats to vote to reopen the government. And major airlines such as Delta, United, and American Airlines have done the same.

While the Democrats continue to play games and use this shutdown as "leverage," Republicans are hard at work to serve their constituents in their districts.

At Speaker Johnson's press conference on Friday alongside U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, Speaker Johnson discussed the Democrat's shameful record of voting 14 times against funding the government. Speaker Johnson gave a special thank you to federal workers who are working each day without a paycheck, like those at Bayne Jones Army Community Hospital (BJACH) at Fort Polk. Even during the government shutdown, Speaker Johnson's staff in Louisiana's Fourth Congressional District and Washington, D.C. is still hard at work to serve our constituents. Please contact us if you need assistance. We are open and here to help!
