Hey John,
I’m hitting the road this weekend and visiting three states — Texas, Georgia, and New York — to support some of the most inspiring young leaders on the ballot next Tuesday.
As we help push our candidates into the final stretch of their campaigns, Leaders We Deserve is also facing our end-of-month deadline tonight. We’re falling short, but with your help, we can close the gap. We’ve come too far and built too much momentum to drop the ball in the last few hours.
I’ll be on the ground knocking doors, leading canvass launches, and amplifying our candidates' messages during these final days. Unfortunately it’s a lot harder to raise money while I am on the road. I’m asking for $3 not just for our three candidates with elections on Tuesday but to protect our independence from corporate special interests. Too many in DC solely rely on wealthy donors or corporations who benefit from pollution and predatory corporate practices that are good for profits but horrible for the people.
Your grassroots support lets us back candidates who hold special interests accountable and who don't take corporate money. We don’t serve the 1% we serve the 99%, and we’re building a movement to prove integrity in politics still exists. So if you can, please help us protect that independence and support our candidates by donating just $3 or more. I know this is a long email but I really want you to understand how important your support is and that it truly does matter.
Now that I have told you what your support can do, let me tell you about who we are supporting and where I am going to be this week turning out voters for them:
My first stop is in Houston to help Christian Menefee win his race for Congress.
As Harris County Attorney, Christian sued businesses price-gouging families during a hurricane — and he won. He held Union Pacific accountable for toxic contamination harming people’s health — and he won. He’s also sued the Trump administration multiple times for cutting federal funding to essential programs in his community — and won. He’s the kind of leader who never backs down and always fights for his community.
Up next, I’ll be in Atlanta to rally with Akbar Ali.
At just 21, Akbar runs a small business, organizes for public education and affordability, and serves as First Vice Chair of the Gwinnett County Democratic Party. If he wins his race for the State House, he’ll be the youngest member of the Georgia General Assembly.
Finally, I’ll close out in NYC, helping Zohran Mamdani cross the finish line.
Zohran embodies everything Leaders We Deserve is about. He’s proving that a new generation of young leaders can win and deliver real change. He’s energizing young people and tackling the Big Apple’s affordability crisis head-on.
This is going to be an exciting weekend, John — and it’s all thanks to you. We don’t take a dime of corporate PAC money. Without your support, helping elect these leaders wouldn’t be possible.
We’re going all in to win these races on Election Day, but we need your help to secure victories on Tuesday and build momentum for 2026 and beyond.
So I’m asking everyone reading this to chip in — $3 — to help build a new generation of leaders.
Thank you. Let’s win together, John.
