Sincerely, Democrats Put Politics Over Feeding Vulnerable Iowa Families Food assistance programs like SNAP are set to run out of funding as soon as November 1st – leaving an estimated 270,000 Iowans and over 42 million Americans – vulnerable parents, children, and seniors without the ability to buy groceries. Thankfully, Governor Reynolds is stepping up to ensure Iowans in need can access nutrition benefits. I’m so grateful for Governor Reynolds’ leadership in meeting the needs of Iowa’s most vulnerable families as Democrats continue to use essential government services like SNAP as “leverage.” This is a game to them. No one should go hungry because of the Democrats’ dysfunction — I hope they come to their senses and vote to reopen the government. Shutdown Harms Air Traffic Controllers & Our Safety Air traffic controllers and TSA agents are missing another paycheck, even as they work tirelessly to keep Americans flying safely. Many are working extra hours or second jobs just to get by, while Democrats refuse to reopen the government and pay them. Flight delays and cancellations are mounting, and holiday travel is at risk – all because of Chuck Schumer’s senseless shutdown antics. It’s past time for Democrats to vote to reopen the government.
