It may be an off year, but the elections in Virginia next week could prove massively consequential for Democrats’ chances of winning the House back next November.
Virginia Democrats are working to amend their state constitution to allow new voting maps to be drawn in time for 2026, which would give Democrats more seats and help counteract the Trump-ordered GOP gerrymanders in Texas and Indiana.
But Virginia’s Republican Attorney General, Jason Miyares, has recently issued a statement indicating he would block the amendment in order to help support Donald Trump and the GOP. That means it’s more important than ever that we defeat him next week and elect Democrat Jay Jones!
