In 2018 Maine made history by being the FIRST state in the country to implement a rank choice voting system. And this coming Tuesday, Mainers will cast ballots for who they want to represent them in the U.S. Senate.
Voters in Maine can choose their candidates by a ranking of 1, 2, or 3. And now Betsy Sweet’s campaign is focused on pulling out all the stops to get out the vote.
Charles Booker in Kentucky faced establishment pick Amy McGrath and NEARLY won, bringing out hundreds of thousands of voters. Betsy Sweet is in a similar battle against DSCC pick Sara Gideon, but rank choice voting has changed Maine’s elections, and Betsy has a great shot at moving on to November!
